Japanese millet, also known as wheat millet, sawa millet, is a type of millet that is mainly grown in South and East Asia as food and in the USA as a fodder plant. It belongs to the sweet grass family. The name "Japanese millet" is actually misleading as the species is not and has never been cultivated in Japan.
